Collierville’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program recently completed another class. Students participated in 20 hours of training for fire suppression, disaster medical operations, emergency radio usage, search and rescue techniques and team formation under the Incident Command System prior to responding to a simulated disaster. Twenty volunteers became “victims” with a variety of medical and emotional needs, allowing the students to practice their new skills in a realistic environment.
