VFW Post 5066 Commander Mickey Locke (left) and              Alderman Tom Allen (right)     present Collierville High School assistant girls’ soccer coach Ken Mears with money raised during a benefit pancake breakfast held Jan. 23 at the VFW. The breakfast and a T-shirt fundraising campaign by CHS senior soccer players Alexis Pugh and Amanda Smith have helped raise nearly $12,000 toward the purchase of a new motorized wheelchair for Mears. An additional fundraiser, the Mears on Wheels 5K, is slated for April 25 at 2 p.m. at W.C. Johnson Park.
